Which extracurricular activities, jobs while earning degree, volunteer jobs, etc?

Job experience: tutoring, substitute teaching, teaching assistant
Join professional teaching organizations and participation in special seminars/additional specialized training (technology the classroom, specialized instruction for kids with LDs, etc.) It shows that you want to keep up to date on the latest information and will continue to do so after being hired.
Depending on where you want to teach, certification or ability to speak other languages is a bonus
