Is it still appropriate to have a 2-page resume in the education field?

Question by Dennis C: Is it still appropriate to have a 2-page resume in the education field?
When I last updated my resume for schools (I am a certified teacher) I was told that either a one-page or two-page resume would be appropriate. The woman who helped me said that if I have enough information to fill both pages, I should use a two-page resumee style. At that time, I did not and chose a one-page resume. Now, I have more experience and would like to share it all if possible. Please let me know your opinions.

If it takes 2 pages to show your qualifications, use 2 pages. My resume is 2 pages and there is nothing that I can remove to make it shorter. Professionals usually have more experience & training, so that makes it necessary to have more than one page. Do not go over 2 pages, though. Or, if you’re really concerned that 2 pages is overkill, you might want to write a really good cover letter that discusses relevant experience more in depth, then keep the resume to the basics.
