Q&A: Is it ok to have your coverletter and resume on two different types of paper?

Question by parkdad73: Is it ok to have your coverletter and resume on two different types of paper?
The best printer I have access to is at the library where I can’t put in special paper in order to print out cover letters. My printers at home tend to smudge on nicer paper.
I have my resumes printed at Kinkos on good stock but will it look strange if my cover letters aren’t on the same stock?

it is not ok. try having the cover letter and resume on the same type of paper. otherwise your resume might end up in the shredder.
