If someone gets kicked out of nursing school for drugs, can they get accepted into a different school?
Question by joey: If someone gets kicked out of nursing school for drugs, can they get accepted into a different school?
My dad recently got kicked out of nursing school for smoking pot. He’s pretty devastated. He knows we all support him and feel terrible, even though we hold him responsible for this decision. He’s thought about moving out of state to resume his education, he’s only three semesters away from graduating. If he tries to transfer, will he have any problems getting accepted?

possibly. cause when he applies to the new school they will have to review his transcript. i dont know if they put information like that on students transcript
Normally I am a very tolerant person when it comes to pot. But how careless does someone have to be to get caught using it while in nursing school? Was he using it on school grounds? During classtime? Did he come to clinicals high?
I’m sorry, but if he can’t leave the sh*t at home then he has a problem with it, and I don’t want a person with a drug problem becoming MY nurse. He needs to clean up his act before he even thinks about trying to get back into school.
And yes, he will have problems getting accepted. His transcripts will follow him everywhere he goes. He will have some long, hard explaining to do to be able to get accepted anywhere, and the best advice I can give is he should go through some kind of treatment program so he has physical evidence that he is changing his life and is responsible enough to become a professionally licensed nurse.
