How to get rid of Microsoft Word formatting marks?

Question by angrytypingguy27: How to get rid of Microsoft Word formatting marks?
I have formatting marks for paragraphs, spaces, and top/bottom of page appearing in my documents. I can correct it temporarily by going to Tools, Options, and unchecking All under Formatting marks, but once I resume typing the symbols appear again.
