I will be a college freshman next fall. What would you recommend I do to have some great things on my resume. I really want an internship after my freshman year.

Most internship positions are reserved for Juniors and Seniors who have completed all of their general education requirements along with at least 12 upper division courses within the major, so getting one as a Sophomore is probably not going to happen. Freshman and Sophomore students should look at doing community service that is closely related to their major and subsequent degree. Another thing to do that looks great and makes you stand out amongst the crowd to employers and graduate admission committees is to work side by side with a professor on his/her research. If you happen to get something published in a journal, that will be even better.
